angel eye led marker

Post by x5inwales » Sun Apr 14, 2013 12:02 pm

Just a personal opinion, I updated the standard angel eye marker to 3w LED marker, recently I changed it to 10w LED marker, it looks the same to me. Don't waste money on expensive 10w or higher, personal opinion, it is same or similar to 3w.

I can only agree with this post, I previously had the 3w ones in my 540 sport and i bought a set of 10w ones for the X5 and to be honest i really can't see any difference. Sometimes i get the "you know i think they may actually be brighter" but then i realise it is just wish full thinking. IMO i would just go for the 3w or 5w ones and save yourself some money and disappointment.

Just don't buy them at all, 3W costs around 25 quid, it just makes the angel eye white not that yellow or brown, but not very bright, hardly visible in day light,

you will be fine. Bought many of those before. (for different cars)
Just ensure the black connections are nice and tight on those. You'll know once you see the connectors. Sometimes they can be a little loose. Apart from that all good.

ALso the resistors they come with (long silver/black tubes_ are securely mounted somewhere. As they get quite hot after a while of being in use and just to stop it from melting any wires etc...Also it stops them being knocked about to avoid premature failure.

Hi Y13HYA.......So did you buy those exact ones??  From that seller???

Its just after reading that earlier post about the 10w ones being no better than the 3w ones.....im slightly worried ive wasted my money.  Someone said they paid £54 where as ive paid nearly half that....so im now thinking my new 10w ones will be rubbish :(
The 3w ones i have now look great at dusk but not very visible in the day....im hoping these 10w one will be nice and bright in the daytime......We will see.

Those exact ones i have used and many others. (from this seller)
Trust me 10w ones are definitely brighter. Anyone who says 3w and 10w has no difference then they need to look again properly. Likei i said i install these on a regualr basis and 10w is always preferred over 3w. 10w arent that expensive now compared to what they used to be 6 months ago. The price for 10w now is what 3w were 6 months ago.
