Lawnmower advice
Lawnmower advice
Right folks, new house has a rather large lawn so need some lawnmower advice. I currently have the smallest self propelled Honda IZY but just doesn't have the width needed - only 13"!!!!
Looking for a 20-24" cutting width I reckon. Anyone got any recommendations? I do like my current Honda but the prices for the equivalent in the size I need can be >£1k. Only stipulation is that its self propelled. Not bothered about roller. See garden below - front is similar size.

Re: Lawnmower advice
Stick with a Honda or maybe Husqavarna. If the one you would like is too highly priced, consider a nearly new or ex demo. If maintained, either of these will give you years of trouble free cutting. I may self have a Husqavarna ride on with a Rover self propelled for the steeper slopes. The rovers used to be excellent, but a few years back they tried to cut production costs and the commercial market have lost confidence in them.

I haven't got a clue about lawnmowers but just wanted to say that is some size of garden, you not think about hiring someone in to do it for you while you sit and drink beer lol

Re: Lawnmower advice
I would have said a Honda as they're damned nearly bombproof. Unfortunately you've dismissed that due to cost.
I suppose a Hayter would probably be a similar price for a 24" cylinder, or rotary mower?
Nice sized garden though.

Never anthropomorphise computers. They hate that.
Re: Lawnmower advice
I haven't dismissed a Honda - I'm leaving this house in a box and as I'm only 34 I want something that'll last for years and years. Average out the cost over that timescale and its not really that expensive. Just don't want to spent that amount if I'd be better off buying something cheaper but just as good - but consensus just now is that that's not the case. So looks like another Honda it is....

Re: Lawnmower advice
Defo Honda if you are buying.
I like the 'get a guy in' idea, how much would it cost pa, and how many years before you use the cost of a mower? Added bonus of more beer time too.

Please note...
Anything I say is only from my personal experience and knowledge..
I don't assume to know everything, and know there is a lot I don't know..
But then I could be talking bollox.. O:-)
