Many thanks for the kind offer but it's going to a local garage on Wednesday - I just don't have the time to self mechanic any more.

No worries. I still like to get my hands dirty.

What was the cause of your squeak XV?

Having the exact same annoying squeak from the o/s/r on mine!  >:(

More worryingly I also get an intermittent metallic noise from the same area that I can only describe as someone banging a spoon on the bottom of a saucepan!! It is quite loud (can be heard inside the cabin with windows closed) and doesn't seem to follow any pattern i.e. doesn't coincide with bumps in the road and doesn't happen when you rock the car. Any ideas???  :'(

I'm beginning to think the garage left a spanner inside a tyre when I had them swapped a couple of months back!  :):o

When I was buying mine it creaked so I Google searched and from the information surmised it was the Bushes then used it as a negotiation point I got the Garage I was buying from to fit Polybushes as part of the deal. Brilliant no creaks or groans anymore (well not from the car)
