Looking at the above photos, I see that the engine management light is not on when the ignition is on but engine is not running, mine is the same, it doesn't light either when the test is run. Is this normal that the EM light isn't on with the ignition?

Was a bit tongue in cheek....
Well that may be a very good point but i would not want to screw up a £1000 part to fix. I think he puts a new cable etc in it as well so i assume his labour to take it out, reinstall and fix it flawlessly, 150 is well worth it. The result was very assuring.
On the other hand that is a very good talent to have especially there is such big demand.
