Re: Help gearbox problems

Could be a solenoid in the valve body sticking or wear in one.
Also might be a dodgy 1st gear clutch pack or a circlip jumped off?

I would deem it unlikely (from my experiences to date) to be fluid issues as would most likely affect all gears?

Could be symptomatic of battery / alternator issues as some have seen similar behaviour?

Have you reset adaptations?

Have you checked pressure and control current??
If things were meant to be easy, then I will soon complicate them....
Please note...
Anything I say is only from my personal experience and knowledge..
I don't assume to know everything, and know there is a lot I don't know..
But then I could be talking bollox.. O:-)

Got a reconditioned box fitted for £1145 from all gears and engines. 6 months 10k mile warranty.
Seems fine at the moment, nice and smooth. Have to do an ATF change at 3k to keep the warranty. Turns out valve body packed up, this was also causing the lurch. Eventually this burnt out some clutch packs.

£1145 from all gears and engines?

Are they on the web? Seems a very moddest price too

Correct, found the add on eBay. That price is without a torque converter.
