As you have now found, these cars are very 'sensitive' electrically and will do all sorts of unpleasant things if the battery gets low.

It's just possible your battery may be approaching the end of its useful life (5-6 years on average) as well as needing a good charge if it's been in a forecourt for a while.

A few of us use the CTEK MX battery conditioner range to keep them 'topped up' if doing short journeys.  The battery is unhelpful ly buried in the boot under the spare wheel and air compressor dome, but is easy to change if you find you get more 'odd' errors showing - such as you have been seeing.

Hi & welcome,

I prefer an original car but I did swap tailgate bulbs for LED items......this reduces current drain when same left open. The other internal lights can be switched off using the dome light

I have learned to do without prolonged music when cleaning the car.

I suggest you either take it for a decent run or re-charge the battery with a decent conditioning charger....... not a cheap cell boiler.

(edit : I posted at similar time as X5sport apologies for duplication)

Hi Richard,
Thanks for that, i'll keep an eye on it. If the battery flats again i'll get a new one. I should have remembered from my previous X that they are quite easy to flat. I read yesterday some of threads recommending which type to get so will make sure I get the correct one if needed.
Thanks, Gav.

I find that washing the car is great 'me time'. Don't need music, just loads of time to think or just zone out while  spending the hours on the car.

Same with mowing the lawn.

Helps that I enjoy both activities.

I agree with washing the car, but the 2 minutes it takes me to mow the lawn......
I take it you have a ride on mower to mow your grande estate then? :))
