A quick search of eBay shows grills from less than £30 including delivery, but no private sellers.  Maybe gumtree in your local area?

How about trying local breakers yards?

Cheers guys, l don't mind around £30 from ebay, just so many and past experiences showed me that that not all are a snug nice fit, anyone bought them that fit good?

Possibly 'cheap' and 'good fit' might not go well together ;)

If you do take the ebay plunge, please keep us informed on the fit and finish, cos I am tempted too. Thanks.

Minor issue - just take em off and spray again (with what's left in the original can)! YOu'll have loads left. Gonna try the same with my wife's car.  >:D

All down to preparation, just make sure you do it properly and it shouldn't suffer any more than the bumper or bonnet.

I'm thinking of going down the fully chromed route as our X is silver. Anyone bought the eBay ones of those?

Colour code em. I always love the look of colour coded surrounds on the grilles.

I have a set of full chrome (pre-facelift) on ebay the moment. They came on my car but I changed them for the OEM chrome w/titanium slats version instead. They are a good fit.

To the OP, on the black grills, painting them is the way forward - on my previous X5 I painted mine as I wanted gloss black and all on ebay were just a flat 'unfinished' look black. Then I repainted them satin black. With good prep they will look excellent. I am no pro but mine turned out very well
