A few pics of the new X5 (53)

Sorry guys, been away for a few days, and the X5 performed lovely, averaging 33mpg but the car was so full i couldn't see out off the back, and there was 5 of us in as well.
Here's a few pics from the other day, my personal plate is going on tomorrow, and it is being valeted, mopped and polished professionally on Wed so better pics then.







Gonna try and find best place for black kidney grills and bulb set to start the freshen up.

looks sharp!  is that a legal tint on the front windows or just a misleading pic - the look a bit dark?  Either way, enjoy the motor - looking fwd to the post-valet pics too.

no mate the tints are way too illegal, ill leave them until i get told to remove tho as they were on the car when l bought it.

Cant wait to see it detailed tho, should look very nice hopefully. Just need to sort out the PDC as front nor back are working.

Seriously, don't wait to be pulled for your tints. They're so obviously illegal that, if you were involved in an accident, I'm positive the insurers would take one look at your car and invalidate the insurance.

Worst case scenario but I've seen some terrible accidents involving nearest and dearest and none of them were foreseeable until they happened.

lots of talk about front tints but what is the law on this if you have purchased the car in good faith?

Ordered a full set of led upgrade bulbs for all interior and some number plate bulbs as well as puddle bulbs. Still trying to decide on the black kidney grills to buy as the quantity for sale on ebay is immense.
Also looking at the scanner to start using, just worried about installing drivers as I have W7 ultimate 64bit.

Going to order the oil breather and air filter when my post is replied to in the how to section.

ajwk - tints are tints im afraid, they say ignorance is no excuse, if caught, l can plead stupidity that i didnt know and bought it like it, and the police believe me, or they can issue a fine and rip them off there and then.

Exactly right. Ignorance of the law is no defence. Plus, we know for a fact that insurance companies will withdraw cover for any excuse - a non roadworthy car is a no-brainer to them.

Also it's against the law to sell a car with illegal tints so the vendor does have responsibility as well  (just checked gov.uk site) and they should bear the cost of the tint removal - don't know how involved that is?

What are the av plug for and tv button for?... is it for when the tv worked so people in the back could listen etc?

If memory serves...
AV allows you to input audio/video signal for display on main screen (select channel 'AV').
TV button advances TV channel when pressed.
