drunken man

A man has a real bad drinking problem and after another long day on the booze he staggers home to his wife.
"right" she says "thats the final straw! if you ever come home again blind drunk i am going to take the kids and leave you for good"
He doesnt want to lose his wife and kids but next weekend he hits the bars again. He gets plastered as usual and is even sick down his shirt. "dave" he tells his drinking buddy, " if the wife sees me like this she will leave me. what can i do?"
"i know" says dave, giving his mate a £20 note " tell her that someone threw up on your shirt in the street and to say sorry they gave you £20 for the cleaning bill"
"good plan" says the man and they carry on drinking.
Later he decides to head on home.
"look at the state of you again!" screams the wife on his arrival.
"its not what it looks like love" says the man, handing over the money to his wife "this chap threw up on me in the street and gave me £20 for the cleaning bill"
"oh, i see.." says the wife calming down, "but there is £40 here.."
"yes" replies the man smugly, " the other £20 is from the man who shat in my pants"
