I have just received my upgraded 10W led bulbs today in there nice case. This may be a daft question but what are the other bits in the case for ?
Look like metal cylinders with wires coming out of them. Are these resistors ?

Changed mine back last year from the yellow to white, when one of the side light bulbs went and kept getting the beep everytime I started up and the message, check side/parking lights. As a replacment bulb and holder were nearly £28.00 I decided to upgrade. Ordered the LED's and changed them both out, it was a straight swap. See link below.

Probably, most likely to drop the volts to the LEDs and also provide CANBUS with the right 'load'.

mine from HID Direct were direct swaps. no metal cylinders.. all built in incl resistor to handle canbus.

How much better are the Cree ones Jay? I've got the regular HID Direct on mine and they are fine at night but crap during the day.

they aren't as good as i thought they'd be although the white makes it instantly noticeable plus i have them as DLRs..

CRE for LEDs come well recommended so can't go any better i guess.. so went for it.

the 2 independent pieces of wires with a plug at each end - even i got that, that wasn't necessary.

the cylinders - no idea.. you have 4 of them? they don't look like magnetic noise suppressors either..

might be worth asking the supplier. .

Supplier says,

One of the metal cylinders stops the lights flickering and the other regulates the power going to the new bulbs.
