Ouch!! Just paid £365 for mine on John Lewis. Aviva was £770+
Never anthropomorphise computers. They hate that.
Re: Insurance
I know it's a hassle but I will look elsewhere, every year, before taking the renewal. For the past few years, I've been using gocompare and I can always knock a considerable amount off my renewal quotes.
I'm positive you'll be able to get a lot cheaper with some legwork.

Hi Malc
I pay £500 fullly comp, protected NCB. That's for me and the Mrs, try the comparison sites. I'm with Swiftcover.
Parking on a drive too, we're BL postcode that may make it a little cheaper but worth a try.

Re: Insurance
Try AXA too - sister company for Swift.
Too many factors of course - driveway makes the premiums higher btw, say street for parking! I know.......
Admiral still better than most for multi-car and declaration of mods for me.

Re: Insurance
I agree with the above, definitely use comparison sites.

No need Malc. Just enter your details, once, in your comparison website of choice then that's it. (I know it sounds like an advert but it really does save a ton of time and, most likely, money)

Re: Insurance
I've had lower quotes than my renewal from the same company before! A quick phone call and they matched the quote. It's really worth doing a confused.com or something similar.
People buy horsepower but drive torque!
Re: Insurance
Thing to do is to use the comparison site to find the cheapest quote that suits. Then instead of buying through that site, go direct to the insures site and get another quote, often cheaper again. Take things on step further, after finding the cheapest quote on a comparison site, go through the likes of Quidco to see what cash back you can get. Have just done this and got £51 cash back bringing the price down to over £100 less the current insurer who's quote was just over £300!!!

Didn't even think of calling the insurer after getting the comparison site quote!

Chompers is your friend when it comes to getting a deal!!!
I would also go back to you current insurer after you get the best quote and ask if they wish to keep your business will they review their renewal. I have done this for the last 5 or so years and every time the renewal has been reduced to compete. (Currently with LV who are very good to deal with, albeit I have to do battle with them on Mrs Chompers car) >:D
