Colour coded grills Pics - Opinions

Post by Hoppy_70 » Tue Mar 12, 2013 2:24 pm

Ok, painted my grills this morning, because I think I prefer the titanium look, but didn't want to pay £100's for the privilege.

I just bough cheapish paint from halfords using a plastic grey primer and their version of Titanium Silver. I didn't see any reason to buy a proper BMW can, because the match doesn't have to be exact as the car is space grey.

First two pics are in primer and painted

These are before and after on the car.

I actually bought the grills from ebay for a tenner so still have my originals if I need to change back.

What do you think?

I used to be a serial modder but in this instance I prefer the stock ones.

That is, of course mho. It's what you like that counts.

Good effort for the cost of a few tins of primer/paint and the grills off fleabay. Space grey is one of the better colours in which the Titan grills work.

Yes I thought that. I'm still undecided despite having seen them as standard eqpt on the SD and 4.8 (?)

I think the silver looks far better that is why I did mine last year. I think it makes the car look newer especially on my E53Image

Space Grey/Sterling Grey certainly suite the titanium grills better than other colours.

Were as a Titanium coloured 'X' and grills doesn't work as well IMO  ::)

First of all, good job.

Secondly, Titanium looks way better, any day of the week. IMO, if course.

Thanks guys,

I'm definitely warming to the titanium ones. I think the pic I took is a bit rubbish and would demonstrate the look better from the same angle as b5tews car.

They definitely look best on grey cars (but not titanium ones for some reason!)
