Newbie in Reading

Post by telatech » Tue Mar 05, 2013 6:12 pm

Hello everyone!

great forum and very informative

Just bought a 2010 X5 40d M sport 7 seater. Overall, very happy with the car but a bit disappointed about the MPG figures as I'm averaging 27 mpg mix driving. I can't remap as yet as I believe this will void my the BMW dealer warranty.

I'm well aware and concerned about the OBD key cloning issue and looking forward to install a Viper alarm (added piece of mind).

Cheers

Welcome.  :punk:

Great choice of motor. Although not sure you should have an issue with key cloning. If your car hasn't been updated then book it in with dealer to arrange. (Free of Charge) Not heard of anyone else fitting a second alarm but if it gives you that extra piece of mind than that's fair enough.

Welcome!

Give it some time to settle down. I'm getting 27mpg mixed as well but that us heavily weighted towards shorter, town driving with the occasional long run.

Enjoy!

Edit: just checked. Am getting 29.

Sorry, I was replying through the iPhone.  Buttons just too small so didn't want to spend to much time typing.  ::)
