All sorted and ready for blast off tomorrow evening....bring it on..

A belated welcome from me, and good luck with the pickup tomorrow.
Very jealous of your stable. I would love the 6 and the X and the Ducati......
Looking to change my E46 this year but I'm not sure the budget will get me a 630d or above (without starship mileage or completely fooooook'd). The V8's are cheaper as usual, but I would like to afford to tax and run one.

Re: Another newbie just signed up
After collecting the car last Friday, i took it for its first spin on Sunday... :drive:
What a freaking awesome motor. My only complaints/concerns are.....fuel consumption :'( i'm only getting between 24mpg (town) - 31mpg (Mway @75mph), so i'm a bit disappointed with that, as i was getting 38mpg @85mph from my old X3 2.0d..
Also, there's an annoying rattle emanating from the rear of the car. however, i believe this might be the lower tailgate, so i'll look into fixing that.
Here's a couple of pics.

Congrats Pope,
Don't be too worried by that fuel return. Your only just getting used to the car and it is bigger, heavier and bigger engined than your X3

Ok Don, I'll give a week before I trade back to a X3
Update
I've sorted the tailgate rattle. It was a simple job of adjusting the two lower tailgate latches using a 12mm socket.
took less than 5mins to do...and no more rattles.
Happy days

It's the rumble from those lovely exhausts! I wouldn't complain too much that V8 is heavenly

Have you looked at the lower tailgate?
If its rattling, its an easy fix.

Hello - nice motor - you should try living with 17.5 mpg....I've got that issue with the rear tailgate, been into the dealer who failed - any pics of the exact bit that needs adjusting? Thanks

1. Remove the plastic cover.
2. slacken the two nuts.
3. gently tap the bracket back a couple of mm.
4. re-tighten the nuts.
5. replace cover.
6. repeat process on the other bracket.
