635d (E63) map same as X5 (E70) 35d??

Can anyone tell me if the OEM engine map in the 635d (E63) is the same as an X5 (E70) 35d map, and vice versa??

Could i swap maps between the two cars?

Jason's your man for that question.  My own thoughts would be no, as I would suspect the ECUs are programmed to deliver two different program's due to the different jobs the cars are designed for.

NO! 

The maps are specific to each car! The ECU gets read - that file gets tweaked and then read back to the car.

The E63/70 maps will be different.

Jason will need to see the original file for each car and then map them separately.

[X5Sport]

ECU maps will as said be different as the cars are different weights, have different performance, torque, power and emissions curves, they also have different gear and final drive ratios, and most importantly one is 2WD and the other is 4WD.  All of these will result in a lot of differences that need covering off in the ECU and how the ECU and Mechatronics Units in the gearbox converse.

Two different species of cars and not interchangeable.........

My best advice is to get your car remapped correctly by a well know tuner

Thanks for the reply.
I'm thinking of reinstalling the OEM in the 635d, as the massive torque is destroying my rear tyres.
So I'll have to get the mobile tuner that installed it to sort it.

I'm not thinking of remapping the X5 just yet, but when/if I do, I might give you a call.

Reinstating the OE map? It's not the map that's the problem, it's your right foot.

As for the X, Jason is your man.  I'm sure that I am completely safe in saying that a map on the X will improve drivability (not saying they aren't good to start with, but things can always be improved upon) and you will most likely get better performance and economy too.
