Axa insurance

Post by Imy » Sat Feb 23, 2013 9:04 pm

I was curious to see what quote I would get for a 4.6is E53 since I'm now 27, working in the city driving less than 4k miles. Anyways when I altered my current policy to see what it would throw out I was told I ws too young to be insured on this car... I was also told my dad who is a named driver on the policy... And 62 yrs old is ALSO too young to be insure on this car! Looks like il have to take my 3l to my death bed as I will never be old enough. Made my dads day though!

I'm insured through Axa.  45 and living in Northern Ireland.  Usually more expensive than even London.

John Lewis have just quoted me £380 to go with them, against Aviva's £668.  (52yrs ancient)

Axa was the cheapest for me at £1400 for the 3l.
It's just when you think that computers are starting to take over most functions this is the sillyness that is being thrown out by some computers.

Did you get the quote from a compare site?  If so it maybe worth your while ringing a few direct. The company I ended up with were one of the most expensive on the compare site but they rang me later that day and gave new a much better price.

Hey Imy,

Try Admiral they are normally pretty good for young drivers with high insurance group cars.

I very surprised at 27 they are saying its too young. I tried insuring my 4.6is when I was 20 and most companies wouldn't even give me a quote as the car is group 49 or group 20 depending on the company.

So I waited til I was 21 and went with Admiral fully comp for £1100 with 3 points but 5 Years NCB.

Hope this helps.

James

I think everyone's missing the point. The punch line was the fact it came back telling me my dad who is 62 is also too young to own be insured on a 4.6is!!!

And these are the computers who will be ruling the planet in the future!! And if its Axa's computers that rule the world then we will all never be old enough to drive anything over a 3.0!
