Headlight

Post by Ash » Mon Feb 18, 2013 5:52 pm

Hello peps,
Just joined on this forum today so you will just have to bare with me for a couple of days if I ask a question that has already bin answered but here we go. I don't no or should I say I can't find anywhere, headlights for my bmw 2005 e53 facelift model. What I'm looking for is a replacement for is a brand new headlight with led angel eyes and xenon light as well if poss or along them lines. I've seen about the one for 96-04 year e53 per-facelift but just not for the 2005 facelift if anyone could point me in the right direction I'd be much appreciated many thanks

LED lights were never fitted to the Facelifted, or other version, of the E53.

You can fit something like these as a plug and play angel eye replacement and then fit any of a number of HID upgrades with 35/55W lamps to fit your needs.  Have a look at HIDS Direct to see the sort of kits out there.

Several folks have done it on here with complete success......and it's a lot cheaper than buying new headlight units.

If you are looking for an LCI E70 type equivalent Angel Eye then (as yet) there is nothing currently available to match.  There are LED versions being developed but it may be a while yet.

Personally no, but the OEM Part numbers are:

63117166801 for Left BiXenon.  No HID parts included.

63117166802 for Right BiXenon.  No HID parts included.

The only one I found on line is for Halogen and that was over £550!  Made by Hella.

When you say 96-04 do you mean an E39? The E53 was available after 2000 as i remember and please correct me if i am wrong.

No links, those are the BMW part numbers you need and if you put them into a search engine.......you may get summat back.  I just tried under 'E53 Headlight' and got a Hella unit but it wasn't HID.

You've already done a hid upgrade into the standard projectors which should be decent enough so I'm guessing its just the angel eyes you'd like to brighten up?

If so then you can only really replace the standard bulb for an aftermarket led type which will make it whiter but not massively brighter tbh.

Where abouts you based buddy?

My AngeliBright bulbs do look quite bright but not compared to the newer models unfortunately.

You could also try a quick machine of the lenses to remove the dullness.

I meant the outside as they sometimes start to discolour. Things like stonechips etc can make them look a little faded.
