I've almost found my new car I think - new RS5 contents/pics

Post by 535dboy » Sun Oct 24, 2010 7:17 pm

So as many of you know I have been thinking for a year or so now what I would I replace my car with and struggled

Tried the RS6 too big and too expensive.
M5 Tourer/M6 - did like but fragile and thirsty
Merc C63 - lovely sounding but I didn't fully connect with it and I think expensive for what it is
Porsche Cayenne - so much better than the old one but I think I'm done with big 4x4s

So two Audi dealers trying to sell me a car so one on Friday pm and one all day today

Pics first

I love it

Awesome engine and sound matched to a fantastic gearbox.

Similar to an M model you can set up gearbox, engine mapping, rear diff and suspension to your liking.

The ride in full attack mode is rather hard but you can adjust this to be much more comfortable and I thought it rode very well even with the grey car's 20" wheels and so much better than the X5

I don't want the coupe so I am holding out now either for an RS5 cab (and chop the TT in) or the new RS4 Avant (and chop the X5 in).

Need to see what is happening now as soon as one or other are announced.

Saw Rs5 a coupe of days ago & thought of you ;)

Keep us posted.

I'd love to be able to give your E70 the love it never found but sadly other priorities - not least housing issues.

Good Luck whatever you decide to go with.

Sorry to throw spanner in works - I gather the forthcoming R4 dismissed due to seating restrictions.

They look very smart, Grey one looks better than white IMO, possibly because of the wheels and the fact that the cheese grater grill does not stand out as much.

 yes, yes, I know. IMO an 'RS' badged car deserves the christmas tree lights, they just look stupid on an A3 1.6 :headbang:

Seen this this morning and thought of you http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2179545.htm big money but what a machine. You could chop both the TT and 'X' in for it and give the Orange Rocket to the OH :driving:

They do look nice.

I have had two Audis before, and they drive extremely well, but with both had some serious issues. This is some time ago, but it does leave you with a bit of a bad taste.

You still won't be able to keep up with me though :poke:
