Hello from Hampshire

Post by Tweaky » Fri Feb 15, 2013 1:17 pm

Hi all

I am just in the process of buying an 08 x5 XDrive35D 32K miles Black with Black and a few extras for my wife.  We are picking it up next week, just in time for a nice long drive up to leeds.....hopefully it will cost less in fuel than taking my E92 M3  :'(  We can't wait to get it and get going, the days are ticking by very slowly now!

Welcome,

You will see a fair increase in economy compared to the M3, unless of course you drive it like an M3.  :))

Welcome along, and exactly what extras did you get the wife?  ;)

Hope to see some pics of the M3 and X soon.

Enjoy the drive to Leeds :)

You could be surprised

The X of that vintage is necessarily that much better than the M3 depending on use, as an average

Still waiting to get the car, we were going to get it tomorrow, but the good ol DVLA are dragging their heels over the number plate transfer, so is going to be delivered on Wednesday next week now, i must admit i am very exited about getting it and having a go, the days seem to be going by very slowly now.  I am hoping that it will return the same sort of fuel economy that we got out of a Rangy Sport that we used to have... averaged about 24-25mpg.......better would be good though ;)

I would expect better than the sport when driving in a similar fashion.  Having to wait an extra four days is torture!  But worth it in the end.  ;)

Economy wise my 2010 35d does around 30 mpg but better on a long motorway run.  As long as the traffic is reasonable and you're not wearing lead flying slippers then you could be up around 33 mpg.
