Self-levelling rear suspenion & fitting LPG

I have had lpg for 4 years, am well pleased with it, I have a 90 litre tank in the boot in place of spare wheel (all road wheels have puncture repair goo in them)
I am too old to go scrabbling on the floor to fill up with lpg and my fill is adjacent to the petrol filler flap.
Currently paying 57.7p per litre.

Well after a good chat to Kevin at Autotech I have booked the beast in for 15th. He seems very knowledgable and has converted a few X5s which is always good to know.

Had another thought today listening on the radio about all the French people rushing to the petrol stations, doubt there would be much of an issue with LPG if something similar happened over here again, plus you have back up fuel anyway

Me too. Kevin seems to really know his stuff and so should be straight forward as with yours. The 15th just seems soooooo far away.

One thought I have had is:
Make sure your fitter fits flexible metal braid pipes between the tank and the units in the engine bay and also the fuel filler points.
If you have to do any maint or battery changing the tank has to be lifted , if the pipework is solid you'll get fractures, cracks and leakage.
I found out the hard way.
Also if the battery is getting on in age, fit a new one.

Yep valid points and Autotech do both of those. He even fits a slightly shallower battery to allow the tank to sit correctly.

Never thought about flexible hosing, so glad Jay has pointed out Kevin does use these. I'm sticking with my battery as unfortunately I have just fitted a brand ne OE from the dealer about 2 weeks ago. Just means I end up with a slightly shallower tank.

Raj, BRC and Prins can supply LPG configs for the 4.8is no problem, I've seen quite a few. the green fuel company is one of the more well known companies and the installation very OEM.

Spoke to Autotech and now have it booked in with them for the 15th. Going with the Prins VSI system and Kevin has done plenty of X5's previously.
