Hi all
I thought I'd share my experience getting a remap down here in Australia.
I found Jason through this forum and obviously the feedback couldn't be more positive about his service. In trawling through the information, I saw Jason's post about purchasing the ECU Flash tool and a map so you can effectively DIY. This appealled to me massively as here in Australia, we have basically no remap facilities - particularly in lil old Perth. I've heard stories of people paying in excess of $1500AUD for a remap which didn't make it a viable option for me at all.
So upon seeing Jason's posts, I decided to contact him and see if he'd help me out and post the equipment to Australia. Needless to say, Jason was extremely helpful and within a few days of a seemless Paypal transfer, a shiny new ECU Flash tool arrived at my work. Jason's instructions were incredibly simple and within half an hour, I was able to email him the stock file ready for modding. Less than 24hrs later, an email arrived with the remap file and shortly thereafter, I had a transformed vehicle.
The remap did everything I've read about on these forums and I couldn't be happier!!
So a massive thanks to Jason for being willing to help out an Aussie client with a level of service and communication that is becoming rarer and rarer. Keep up the outstanding work!

That's great to hear, I was thinking of contacting him too soon, just want to get my exhaust done first. I agree with the Aussie options, they're all very overpriced, with not a lot of positive feedback from what I have heard.

Re: Australian remap by Jason
hi
thats great to hear, im in Brisbane Queensland and also want to go down this path.
however im confused, and the more i read the more confused i get,
i read where the power output is basically set by BMW to suit the climate of the country, ive read where cars delivered to NZ have higher NM than cars delivered to Australia, ive read that this is due to NZ being a much colder climate.
and in fact i can feel the marginal loss of power in my car in extremely hot weather.
ive read about plug-in boxes that are claimed to be better than re-mapping in that they are a/ tuneable and disconectable
i also wont to have my exhaust exit as the petrol engine cars do, and have been told yep go for it, and hope need to re map.
so im totally confused.
i guess i should start a new thread
ive hung out at Xoutpost for a while, but thought i would get a better response here seeing as my car is a diesel
actually a 7/2005 3.0d with 160,000 km on it
