Scanner?

Hi everyone

My airbag light has just come on for some reason (I had it cleared down about 2 years ago but it's back again). I keep reading about the scanner that some of you guys have bought and am wondering if one of these would enable me to clear the airbag fault and reset the warning light?

If so, could someone post a link to the kind of thing I should be buying.

Also, this so probably a stupid question but i see everyone changing all their bulbs to LED - what's the advantage. Is it just that thet are whiter/brighter or that they draw less power? Or both.

Any help on either question welcome.

Scanner 1.4.0 types are frequently discussed and owned by a few folks here...

you can reset the airbag lights with 1.4.0 beacause i once accidently put mine on while playing with the scanner and then turned it off again

Really odd - jut tried on my iPad and the link found results but on my iPhone it went to eBay but found no results - bizarre!!

Prices seem to vary massively - are there some to avoid or are they all the same?

Where are you based? If you are close by i have both 1.4.0 and peake airbag and diagnostic tool. I can try to scan it for you. I am at IP27

And if so how does it plug into the car - there only seems to be a USB lead (or is there a connection on the black box)?

Yes that's the correct one. The plug that plugs in the car obc port is moulded into the box, then the USB lead plugs into computer. I got a cheap computer off EBay with windows XP that I use the scanner with.

don't need win xp, u can install the scanner sw on win 7 if u follow these instructions..

done this about twice now on 2 diff. comps..
