iPhone video playback
Re: iPhone video playback
possible with a adapter cable maybe ..i think a company called xcarlink do one...
this is mine , x5 e70 2007 msport
Re: iPhone video playback
The iPhone 5 doesn't support video out (Unless theres something else aftermarket (that I haven't come across).
This is certainly the case with the BMW USB interfaces, however it's because the iPhone 5 lightning connector doesn't send video out, unlike the old 30 pin connector. As far as I know, playback and album art is only available from the iPhone 4's & possibly 3 (although I've never had one of those)

Hi there, thats not strictly true. The iphone 5 does indeed support video out, however i suspect you are using an adapter 30pin old style > lightning adapter and it is the adapter that does not support video out.

Thanks - I think that's what I meant but didn't express correctly.
The BMW integration with the 30pin connector lead, doesn't support video out with the iPhone 5. What I meant was, as far as I know, there isn't a way to get video out from an iPhone 5 into the BMW CIC system using the BMW USB interface.
Many iPod docks have similar compatability issues from the change from 30pin to lightning connector.

So would a USB stick work?
