Driver seat not moving

Post by kkodal78 » Fri Jan 18, 2013 8:46 am

Hello all
This morning when my wife tried to move the seat for her settings it would not move. All the motors click but not moving. I thought maybe something could be stuck in track but nothing visible. It doesn't move in any direction at all. Any ideas?

As there is a clicking noise, then power is getting to the seat so rules out fuse issue. Was the car running while trying to move, just wondering if some kind of feature to save the battery if low on power?  As its all motors in the seat I would say this rules out an issue with the seat it's self, more likely power/feed to the seat.

Passenger one also dead? If so, check fuses.

Got seat heating and steering wheel adjustment?

Seat doesn't move either car is running or not. I have heating on the seats and passenger one is fine. No issues with passenger side. All other auxilary functions are working in the car

Does it not move at all, or in very small increments?  There's an article on Xoutpost that might give you some pointers......

It could be the control module itself.

Driver seat not moving

Well, i tried it again a few minutes ago and it worked in reverse response. When i move the button forward it went reverse and pulled it up seat moved down. And now it is not working again. I guess  it's the module order the connection.

Where exactly is the connector for tge module? Is it easy to take off the side panel to take a look behind it?
Would cold weather have anything to do with this mishap?

I did play with the connections that i can see and reach but no luck. Today the steering column is stuck as well. I guess i'll be needing a new module.
