Picking New Car Up Tomorrow - Any pointers

Post by toneus » Thu Jan 17, 2013 4:44 pm

Picking up my X5 xDrive40D SE tomorrow  ;D

Bought through the BMW employee scheme (thanks to Brother-In-Law), so doesn't go through dealer, so will need to give it an extra special check over. Just wondering if anybody had knowledge of any common mistakes / things I should check for? (Will be looking for the red tool on another post  :)) )

FYI, options are
Media Package
Reversing Assist Camera w Top View
Windscreen w Grey Shade Band
Panoramic Glass Sunroof
Sunblinds in rear side windows
Folding Exterior Mirrors
Seat Heating-Front
Adaptive Headlights
X5 xDrive40d SE
Sparkling Bronze
Black Nevada + Brushed Aluminium
Panoramic Sunroof
Adaptive Headlights
Media Package

Absolutely EVERYTHING!!  Mine had paintwork issues and was taken back a week later for a wee polish.

If you have the 20" wheels then you should have anti-chipping film on the rear doors and ahead of the wheel arch I think.

Should be 3 pieces on each side, as above and one that runs along the bottom under the rear door ahead of the arch.

I'd also check all the iDrive and make sure all the features are there and working (after my experience with my wife's X1!) e.g BMW Assist and SOS button by rear view mirror
