I'm obviously biased, and would have sympathy if lights were too bright, but I think the daytime lights are not and make the car more noticeable ie safer for others, and the Xenons on dip are just more white for other drivers.

A bigger issue is the amount of people driving without any lights on at all in the fog/snow as they have "Auto" headlights and because it is still bright they have not switched on or they do not have the brains to turn the lights on.

Lights do not dazzle unless you stare into them, then again I am sitting higher up than most other cars.

Well what about cyclists with high power strobing LED front lights???
(saw one the other day which i thought was a police car.  Couldn't see the road until they passed by)

They do not need to be checked for beam pattern or direction etc like car lights do......

Ref the link..
Someone has obviously got too much time on their hands.........
If things were meant to be easy, then I will soon complicate them....

Agree about auto lights.  I had a Honda CR-V with auto lights.  Must have been from the cheap bin, light levels had to be way too low before they would come on, and the auto off must have been set at the same level as the auto on because they went off far too early.  There were times when passing under trees or the through the shadow of a building would cause the lights to come on, and them straight off again as you passed said tree, building.  This gave the effect of flashing (your main beam) at oncoming traffic!  :'(
