Key options

Post by awj85 » Wed Jan 16, 2013 9:20 pm

How do you go about programming the keys with different options?  For example, when i lock/unlock the car the alarm chips.  I know other things can happen too, ie, when you drive above say 5mph the doors automatically lock, electric mirrors can fold/unfold when you lock/unlock the car.

If memory serves me right, you will need to go to a dealer and let them know what you want your key to do and they program it.  On newer models, it's possible to do this through the idrive.

+1 for having to be done by a Dealer....unless you have a coding tool.  Later versions it's as said, in the iDrive.

Less exotic....

My 4 year old angel got it, passed it on to me, I got 'so-called' flu (pain right to the core of my bones, fever, blah, blah, blah, plus sinus issues). First time off work in 4 years, day 2. I intend to be back at work tomorrow (and do FA of course - before you pipe in pvr)!  >:(

I'm hurtin'  :(

Thanks for the regards chaps.  :)
