DAB/FM Query

Post by Bob » Tue Jan 15, 2013 1:05 pm

Hi. I'm having no luck in getting the radio to switch automatically to FM when it loses the DAB signal.  I've ticked the relevant box in the options menu but no luck. Just goes quiet and 'no signal' till it returns.
Anyone have any ideas if I need to do something else? Equivalent system on my old S4 worked very well
Thanks. Bob

It is rubbish anyway, the switching option is in the radio setting.

When driving on the M3 away from London, you lose the DAB station after about 10 miles and you switch to FM which has about a 3 second delay as it is ahead or behind with the sound. Then when it switches back to DAB 5 seconds later, you hear the same radio bit again.

I switched the automatic switching off and just use FM as that just works ...

Works completely seamlessly in the X6.  No pause, no repeated segs.  Mind you being flat around these parts we probably never lose the DAB signal.

Must be the 'rounder' windows allowing better signal access compared to your 'square' ones.

On my way to Southampton, I could not find a single DAB station. You select the DAB setting, do a scan (for some reason you can not see the stations) and then you select the first one, which you promptly lose after 10 seconds. You do the same again until infinitum, or in my case - I just switched to FM.

I had the switch option on the 520d but it never seemed to work so to date I haven't ticked this option on the X6.  Will do once back from service.
