Are these the same as the roofbars you have for sale?
can you get cycleracks for them from halfords?
And, has anyone used them for carrying mountain bikes, are they usable with the height of the vehicle?
Thanks

There the ones. Roof bar E. I had a Thule cycle rack on it and the bars/cycle rack only had my bike on it once before I sold the X. No problem lifting bike up but then I have a 20-22lb carbon mtb.

Any roof racks from halfords can take cycle carriers. Most if not all will come with two options for fitting. The first is a simple u bar that is used to clamp the carrier to the roof bar and the second is a T bar that is designed to slip into a grove running from one side of the roof bar to the other. This system is more discrete.
When it comes to carrying MTBs you have to take into account the width of the tyres. Friend of mine has an £80 cycle carrier that's too narrow for his tyre so has to deflate the tyre every time he uses it! I personally use the Thule Proride 591. You can pick these up for £55 from Ford Direct. Very secure, easy to use.
You ask how easy to put a bike on? This depends on you height, 6' plus like me and its easy enough. But much smaller and then you may find it a little difficult to place the bike on without a step.

Thanks Don
Very imformative. Im only 5 foot 8, a guy at work has a roof cyclerack on his tooran, I will have a word with him. Hes six foot plus too though.
May look into rear mounted ones. Never seen one on an X5 though due to the tailgate setup.
Thanks
