Post by villageidiot » Mon Jan 07, 2013 7:54 am

I have seen a set of roof bars on Ebay which are a diffrent design to what I have seen before for the E70, here is a link

Has anybody bought a set of these ? if so are they any good ? I intend to use them for a roof box.

I haven't used these before but sure they would be fine.  That said I like to stick with OEM bars to ensure I get he correctly designed feet as opposed to universal feet.  If time allows, would you not look for some used oem bars on eBay, gumtree etc?  at least then you will get piece of mind with lower cost.

I have been looking for second hand but nothing for sale at present, I'm not in too much of hurry just now but want to have something to fall back on. The rails on my car are flush with the roof with a recess on the inside edge , I'm presuming bars are available for these and not just the raised rails?

Yes, I bought the Thule feet set for my E70 sport. The feet clamp into the ridge at the back of the flush roof rails.

The feet were about £60 from www.theroofboxcompany.co.uk
