Wiper blades

Post by awj85 » Thu Dec 27, 2012 4:27 pm

See lots of comments on various wiper blades and might aswell replace them with some quality ones.  Do u find Bosch blades any good?  Will get them along with my battery.
Any other recommendations for wiper blades?

I got he Bosch ones a month ago. Fitted in less than five minutes for all three. Superb. No problems at all. Best blades I've ever had. IT is worth treating the glass properly too to ensure it is clean and as water repellent as poss

I replaced my stock ones with Bosch Aero Blades and they are excellent. Bought from ECP with the 30% discount too.

Its the upgrade ones:

Part No.: 485778210 21" Aero Blade Left Side although I do think the OE one was 22"
Part No.: 485778240 24" Aero Blade Right Side

I have the OE E70 rear aero wiper arm and blade so didn't need the rear one, although just checking I can't see one anyway.

Can't find a valid discount code at the mo but they have 20% off them anyway so under £20 the set.

Bought some Bosch Aero for mine last week and they were useless, they left an eight inch gap in the centre of the wiper across the drivers side of the screen. I contacted the eBay vendor who is sending out replacements as he thinks I must have had a faulty one, I shall advise once fitted, but the previous posts are reassuring.

On your wiper arm, do you have a small black plastic piece that sticks out of the bottom of the arm towards the windscreen? If so then pull it off with some pliers and see I'd that sorts it? I found this was just catching the wiper blade through the swipe movement and lifted the centre of the blade a touch to cause exactly what you describe.

Also try just bending the end of the arm a touch more towards the windscreen as you will also find that the springs and arms do bend/mould out a touch over time due to the higher centre point of traditional wiper blades over aero ones.

Hi , Raj is right. I bought the same wipers as Reusch and had the big gap in wipe area. Removed the black plastic tag and bent the metal pin flush with the arm, problem solved!!

Are there any benefits to these aero types or do they just "look better"?

I've had normal Bosch and despite the techno waffle and so called testing (yes I have watched Discovery sat how they're made) they always seem to quickly start to make a "noise". That brand new silent sweep lasts only a few weeks :(

They do look better for sure but they actually do clear the screen better with less chatter than standard (just my experience) and mine have been on quite sometime and are still quiet and work perfectly.

I'll take a closer peek then, the ones that Reusch listed were dirt cheap
