OMG I can carbon fibre wrap!!
OMG I can carbon fibre wrap!!
Took to my front skid plate as I had threatened to do last night! I am dumbstruck at the quality of the finish (plus I only stabbed myself with the craft knife once lol)
Anyone coming to the wolves meet is welcome to a lump for their car as I brought a little (ahem) extra in case of accidents (read I bought 5 times too much lmao)

OMG I can carbon fibre wrap!!
Well done! I've found that internal corners are trickiest as the wrap bubbles back up...

Re: OMG I can carbon fibre wrap!!
I just make all my presents look like crackers - ie. wrap the item in the middle then scrunch up the ends and tape them!
Yes, the internal corners were the hardest. However the CF I have is brilliant to handle and with a little heat it can easily be coaxed into contortionist-esque positions (ooeer missus)

Well done, nice looking job. I'm contemplating wrapping the winter wheels next year. I just thought, you could have saved yourself a small fortune and wrapped the wing mirrors. ::)

Sorry for the delayed response, I was just wrapping the kids )
I think the wing mirrors would have been a challenge given the big, continuous bends in them. However I would happily try it out on your car The mirror caps are dead easy to remove so you could post them to me for me to work on with my Bunsen burner method O:-)

Thanks for the offer, but just don't think cf will look good against 'Hells own Fire Breathing Vermilion Red.'

Superb job. Really looking forward to seeing this little beastie in the flesh.
I may take some of that off you as I'm sure I can find something to wrap with it.... ::)

I thoroughly recommend use of a heatgun as opposed to a hairdryer. The results I had this time were far better and the carbon stretched much better with only 2-3 seconds' heat on it.
I might do the front skidguard again as I failed to leave a nice 1cm rim round the outside and just cut it virtually to the far edge (doh!!) Good job I like doing it really :xmaswink:
