Love the look. And really liking the wife's 1er.
If you're free on Sunday evening you should pop over to Wolves and meet up with us.
As Shad was saying when I saw mine with just paint and no lacquer I did really think the matte wrap idea would look stunning.

Re: It is a love/hate thing.
We are out Sunday but if we get back early I will try to pop over as it is only 30mins away.
Went back to get a handle on the wifes re wrapped yesterday as he wasn't happy with how it looked (looked fine to me). He is getting his own powder coating equipment and "maybe" powder coating the running boards black. Found this on tinternet and I am tempted.....

Mmmm I like the idea of powder coated running boards. I'll watch this space with interest.

Re: It is a love/hate thing.
These have just been delivered, 4 for the wheel and a front and rear, need the rain to stop now!!!!!
Re: It is a love/hate thing.
Did I miss the pics of rear light tints? I've got some bugeye wrap to do mine but if there's a better, legal, way then I could be persuaded otherwise.
Knew someone who had powder coated side steps. Wasn't too durable he said - something about the rubber nipples (ooeer)??
Also, have you had your front and rear skidguards wrapped? These are a major eyesore in primer grey if you ask me.

I'd have gone with all black but have had those on my old 530d. Weather is really crap. I'm lucky with the garage so can happily work away no matter what the weather.

What sort of price for this.

Not cheap if you want a good job sadly, not sure of the exact cost as both cars were booked in together for Maps, tints & wraps so we got a discount but around £1500 + VAT for the wrap that includes the door jams and sills. Also if bubbles appear they will sort them out. I have heard of people doing it on the cheap and you can see that nothing is stripped and it starts to peel straight away or as said bubbles appear.

Sorry, didn't reply sooner to your reply! That doesn't seem too bad a price for the work and time involved.

Wheels done . . .
But rear roundel is going to require some research as it will not budge and cant get anything behind it. Read there is strong tape holding it as well as the pins. May have to resort to the drill and self tapper method as the roundel will not be used again. :'(
Oh and the rear lights . . .
I am informed they are legal and MOT compliant as they are actually perforated film.

Re: It is a love/hate thing.
Rear badge us held on with 3M double sided foam tape. Very strong and needs heating to loosen it enough to pry away.
A lot of peeps going with the perforated mesh stuff. Not really keen tbh as looks like fish net stockings up close....lol.

It is a love/hate thing.
I stuck my aftermarket rear roundel on top of the original one. Doesn't notice and can more readily remove other one should i need to go back to standard.
That rear light film is Bugeye stuff same as I have just bought (not had time to fit yet).

Re: It is a love/hate thing.
Backs up everything I have read thanks, I will leave it for now until it is dryer and a tad warmer.
Only had the new type tints because they were legal and less likely to be pulled by plod (hopefully).

From distance they do look good. I've got lamin-x on my lights all round.
