company name

Anyone think of a good electrical company name, I wanted to stay away from (my name electrical) wanting something modern, quite happy to use my initials which is MS or MAS, so any ideas, welcomed thanks

My name is mark lol, I need to also need to leave it open to be added to, my girlfriend is one of the few qualified female bricklayer\plasters in the country!

Given your combined skill set, I would be more inclined to pitch the business as a facilities management company, able to do anything and everything to do with building maintenance.  I'm sure you know of some good plumbers, joiners that you can bring in as required.

As for the name.  Keep it simple and modern.  I wouldn't be too bothered about making the name reflect the skill, as advertising, cold calling and flyers will be the way to get the message across.

If I'm honest, when I see vans that advertise a multitude of skills, I tend to feel that you are getting a handyman that's able to turn his hand to anything but not possibly a master of any.

i'd be inclined to agree when i see a van that suposedly does everything with one man i think the same, my mates got a joinery business and another a plumbing firm, so i will be doing their electrical, i have also been offered maintainance on 60 holiday lets and 2 caravan parks off the same company (mates dad) i was doing jobs for them before but it was starting to get abit much outside work in my own time, im also mates with 4 building contractors who do extensions and the like and 2 one man band electricians with loads of work sometimes too much so im hoping to get a good start before adverts etc, but i also dont want to rule out the fact that i can do other work on a small scale but also get my girlfriend jobs as well as returning the favour for other mates, what me and my mates/contacts want to be able to do is take on say a big new build but between a few of us with the different trades.

If you're running wires in on new builds etc, why not add the capability to run network cabling too?  Not everything is wireless!!  Fibre needs some seriously expensive tooling, but Cat5/Cat6 for media servers etc might be an 'added value' capability perhaps?  More and more household devices are getting 'connected', though I do question some. 

A Japanese Company has announced an Android driven toilet..... ???

Might give you something else to play with for the name too......and no I haven't thought of one yet.

i'd keep it simple, keep names out, so that you're not limited on scope or in fact on ownership (say if u want to sell off one day).

i like names to be catchy, not necessarily saying  what your company does - that's down to advertising (apple doesn't sell apples, boots don't sell boots, currys don't sell curry!).

how about simples like 'Eletric', 'Spark', 'Flux', 'Faraday', 'AC DC', 'Electron', 'Current', 'Tension', 'Juice', 'Volts', 'Magnetic', ...

And then there is Virgin 

Keep the name simple and keep it vague.........its just as easy to add other lines to describe what you do.  Much easier to change small bits of sign writing, cards etc

I'd choose a town or village in your vicinity that has a premium sound and keep it simple e.g. Eton Electricians, preferably with a bit of a ring to it (even if pretty lame).  You need to ensure that people know what you do and that you're nearby, and preferably convey quality.  Worked for Pimlico Plumbers!

so you can tell my bordum over xmas, i mocked this up after winning some thorntons chocolates in the xmas draw at the pub and thinking hhmmmm i like them colours they stand out!! i edited my number for here and i would put the different electrical things on the green stipe in white letters!
