That's my remote all wired up and working. Shame the heaters not though  - on the case though.

Receiver is nicely tucked away in the right hand compartment.

J - how did you secure yours to the car?  I've just temporarily left mine sitting on the wee ledge and trapped the antenna in the cut out to get to the fuel flap locking motor. 

Remote has a btter range than the bloody car key itself!!!

If not selected from dealer it's only used as additional heater for getting engine temperature to normal operation temperature fast to minimize polution and reduce engine wear. 1. Code park heating option through Retrofit (if using DIS, I presume that users are familiar of using this software)

2. Make sure PIN no.2 grey/black-wire is occupied in climate control unit connector X610 (this is a later model 26-pin plug). If not occupie it with 0.5mm^2 cable. This is the +wire for extra water valve used in park heater applications. Without this heater control module receives an error and shuts down heater.



Y1 = original additional water valve (insert resistor here, you dont have this water valve unless you decide to purchace one)
A11= climate control unit

In my case wire was connected and the other end of plug was found under auxliary heater


3. Connect grey/black-wire from x610 with resistor 10ohm (20W) and other end of resistor to ground. This will simulate water valve. In original solution this valve is used for shutting down water circulation from engine to only heat cabine when park heating. You can also add the original water valve ($$$ from BMW).

4. Since your car is not equipped with park heater-option from factory the climate control unit needs to be changed to one with park heating functionality. In my case 64116927900 was changed to 64116927901 (see ETK for correct part number/model/year)

Now you have the aux heating functionality through Board computer with timing and direct on functions.

Works on timer and runs till either I turn it off, its requested to turn off, or the battery runs flat..

(Don't ask how I know the last bit...)
(well sufficient to not start the car but did have other things running at the time!!)

Ok its finally time for me to make my heater come on by remote, keep forgetting to set the b*** timer.

However I fancy doing it using the BMW remote and a combination of button pushes. Anyone know of a 12v pulse or relay that gets set when you open/close the car by the remote.

The webasto shuts itself off if the battery gets below a threshold - so your other things that were on probably caused the flat battery.

I retrofit coded mine, but now it's looking for the changeover valve that's part of the retrofit

INPA doesn't do much in the way of programming. - If I'm wrong, someone tell me how to do it!

You may find coding the onboard computer to bring up the timer will give you trouble (like mine), or, you may find you're lucky.

If you're webasto works just now - the remote should also work.

now - does someone want to tell me how to fix that link so the words "This Remote" is the hyperlink

not to bothered about it on obc as ill just forget! where do people have their remote receivers? up front or in the boot?

boot is best - no water ingress or issues with cleaning the engine bay that way. plus that's where bmw intended it to be so wiring is all there incl the fuse.

It's a funny old thing really. All I had to do on my facelift was enable it with BMWScanner for the OBC. It comes on at the set time and warms the cabin up nicely. So much so that it defrosts all the windows ready for me to just get in and drive it. No retrofitting of valves, no wiring changes, nothing. I guess I'm one of the lucky few in that respect.

Getting bored waiting for my maplin remote to come! Would activate it on obc but my scanner 1.4.0 hasnt turned up either!
