I am Back !!!!!!!!!!
Hi All,
I am at last getting to grips with the land of the living.
Have had a pretty rough last 3-4 months of it, with the spine op,complications and the limitations it puts on daily life.
However, drove the X for the first time last week after 10/11 weeks of being chauffered around by the wife (not to recommended for people of a nervous disposition ).
Will contribute where possible , but cannot do any jobs on my car for a while.
All the best,
Lez

Good to hear that you're on the mend - sorry to hear about the rough past few months.
Hope you get to enjoy the X some more now ...
I know what you mean about being driven by the mrs - I'm always getting advice and being told to slow down, and then when she gets behind the wheel it's just all a blurr ! )

Lez,
Really pleased to see this message. Glad it's all going in the right direction and that you are allowed behind the wheel again....it was a 6 month lay-off for me too. I almost had to get the handbook out again to get the brain to remember where and what everything was and did..... :-[
My other half's sanity suffered too......

Thanks to everyone for the good wishes, some bits of the op not right :, the first screw he put in (to build the stabiliser cage / rods) which went thro the spine was too long, is touching a nerve to the left leg , not found out until a scan was done 2 days after the op. Have to make a decision as to go thro it all again ( as it was the first screw he will have to completely remove the cage etc and start again) and the first op was 10 hrs under the knife, or accept the inconvenience of a slight floppy foot , just looks weird when walking.
See him again in January, he really has done a brilliant job bearing in mind that my local hospital would not touch it and warned me the first 3 months the pain would make me wish I had not had it done (correct) and after 6 months would really feel the benefits.

Re: I am Back !!!!!!!!!!
Dear Gawd....what a choice. But what a mistake!!
As it's just possible I may need added work on my neck you have some sympathy for the position you're in.
I'll know next week what the next steps are for my issue - possible bone graft growth impinging on the nerves for my right arm causing problems, but that's medical speculation until X-rayed/MRI'd etc.
