19's over 20's

Post by jooty » Sun Nov 25, 2012 5:35 pm

Just picked up some 19's with good condition michelins on eBay. They were 250 quid. I have got 20's on at the moment but they are black and buggered, will the 19's looks loads smaller? They are these style wheels.

Can someone confirm to me that the wheels in the above pic are 19's? If they are then I think I'm happy with the look.

Yes these are split size 19" wheels that were standard on the M Sport versions of the X5, pre face lift I believe.

20s do look better than 19s, but the 19s still look fine (it's what I have on mine), and the ride quality is significantly better.  I think they fill out the arches just fine.

Fully agree, ride quality will be better and wheels certainly won't look 'lost' in the arch.  On the 4.6/4.8 and later 3.0/3.0d models there was the wheel arch extension to help accommodate the 20"ers,  if these extensions aren't fitted I would say that full width 20"ers look over sized. IMHO.

Agree with the above. 19's will look fine but indeed not as wide/good as the 20's. But ride will be much more comfy and at a very good price too.
