hi all, a while back i was using the hoover down local tesco and managed to hoover up the + - heater fan speed control for the x5 !!! has anyone got a spare button etc?? as these can only be bought as whole panels from bmw!!! just wondered if anyone had done same thing and butchered a salvaged one to make one good unit and therefore has spare buttons available. thanks

Its a common fault these buttons coming off, My AUTO button came off. I found someone on ebay selling the buttons seperately. Was quite expensive for a single button but cheaper than buying a whole unit.

£40 should sort you out mate...

Control Unit

It says it is in full working order, if not just use the button from it and use your unit...

good spot but looking ideally for a cheap button. i ended up cutting tesco hoover bag open with their permission and finding the button. bottom lug snapped off it, so its in the panel, you just hav to b gentle wen u touch it othawise it can fall off lol!!!

Thats actually a very good price.
I paid £10 plus p+p just for one button.

I'd put that other full unit in from ebay and then get yours damaged one back on ebay to recover some cash... someone might bid on it - just make sure you are honest about the damaged button.
