Anyone here ever used these guys? Out of interest I bunged in my details and got a price over 10% more than dealer offering in p'ex. I do have a personal reg which needs putting on retention, but even if they knocked 1500 quid off for the hassle the offer comes out at about 12% over p'ex quote. There must be a catch I have missed(??)

Ah, Google just answered my question for me :-[
Still, if dealer rethinks overnight and gets me a tad more I will be a happy bunny.

They quote high to get you interested, however, when you take it to them, they will rip it to shreds and give you half of what it's worth! I know a few people who've gone to use them and haven't because of that reason.

Yes, my eyes are getting tired reading all the similar stories.
Re: We **y any car
I sold a 08' civic with 85k on the clock to them in 2010, The dual mass flywheel went and took the clutch with it, so after £700 I decided I wanted shot quick as there was a 750 down south that I wanted, they quoted £900 less than the 'going rate' which I was happy with then 'found' a dent on the roof and knocked another £200 off.... I was still happy.
What I was livid about was I expected them to want me to take them out and prove everything worked ETC... but no, he wanted me to move it back about 10ft to view the paint then put it forward again into the space....if i knew that i wouldn't have had the clutch/fly replaced as it wasn't slipping until 3k revs HAHAH bastards.
my experience was perfect from them though - at the end of the day they're like those silly APR loan companies that offer bad credit people...loans put charge silly money.
You want rid of the car quick - they'll take it but offer you less so they can
A) sell back to dealer if inside 5year old
B) send to auction with the reserve on
so the guy we sold the civic to said anyway...

When I was selling my 2007 Touareg last year they originally quoted £18k which wasn't too far of dealer part ex quote, but a few months later when I was ready to go, they quoted £13k!
In the end I got £21k selling it direct. It was 4 years old with only 22k miles and a decent spec.

Re: We **y any car
A friend of mine wanted to sell a 2006 523i. He put his registration into the web page and was offered 5k. When he went to the office in Belfast they offered him £4975. He was tempted but was told by the guy that they just throw them in the auction to get a few hundred pounds on each car.
With this in mind, he decided to put it through the auction himself. First time through saw only £4500 bid, so he turned it down (£5k reserve) and then the next week let it go for £4800. So after paying around £300 in fees, he was £500 worst off. So I wouldn't discount them without taking the car in to see what they offer in the flesh.

Experience tells me they are rip-off merchants. Offered me £7k for my BMW 750Li which I sold for £11k. Offered £7k for my X5 which I sold for £11.5k. Tossers.
Re: We **y any car
TBH I would trot on down there tomorrow if I had time but (a) I'm off playing golf - ha! and (b) am due to pick up my new car on Friday and they need a couple of days to sort everything with DVLA local office (personal reg on the car to go on retention and another one I bought to go on the new car so a bit of phaffing around). If the dealer offers me 500 quid more for it tomorrow then I will take it to them (and then promptly blow the 500 on ordering the BMW Performance rear bumper/diffuser kit!!)
Re: We **y any car
Dealer came back with several grand more on offer so got the deal.
Performance rear diffuser on order.......

Re: We **y any car
Their quote is currently £1k more than p/ex offering
I've heard they may knock it when they come to see it though
Still hoping I may sell privately though.

Re: We **y any car
I'm selling my Honda CR-V. PX with dealer is £8k, WBAC offered £7500 on the net. I did try to sell privately with no real joy. Although, last night I had a text offering me £5k cash. >:( My initial thought was 'you cheeky f'er. But on reflection I realise that this opportunist approach could catch the desperate seller who needs cash urgently.
