What's going on with apple products?

Post by kkodal78 » Sun Nov 11, 2012 9:03 pm

This afternoon all of a sudden i lost my wifi on the iphone. The wifi option is greyed out. Can't even turn it on or off so i did a quick search on doodle and it seems like the IOS 6 upgrade screwed up with a lot of different models of apple to fail on wifi and bluetooth. Anyone have the same problem by any chance? I've done the network setting reset but no luck. Any ideas?

Not had the problem on any of my Apple devices, but have heard about this elsewhere as well.

Some people are recommending to downgrade to IOS 5.1 till this gets fixed. How can one downgrade to previous software without resetting the phone to factory settings?

Did you upgrade to 6.01?

Other than that, you need to copy the 5.1 files onto iTunes and press alt to be offered the choice. Can't remember the exact steps.

Sorry if being dense but where do you find the prev upgrade and how do you add it to iTunes? It'd be great to have the old maps back!

Seems to be simple for iPhone 4, not so for the 4s by the looks of it.

Oh - and Apple does not support it apparently  :'(

i am actually backing up the iphone right now to reset it to factory settings. it seems like it helped some people to recover the functions this way so i'll give it a go to see if it would help me. wish me luck !

I've not any issues with upgrading to 6.0.1 in 4S, iPad or 3GS. Hadn't heard of it either. Good luck though and hope you get it sorted.

I still haven't 'upgraded' to 6.0 nor 6.0.1.  Apple have a habit of screwing up these software updates.  Waiting till a sorted upgrade is released...  Shocking really.  Why do many of us love Apple so much??

I've had no issues with the upgrade on the iPad or a couple of 3GSs, but I have an iPhone 5 that's being replaced later this week due to both continued software issues and a brown shadow that's appeared on the screen.  Come on Apple, stop launching new/updated products until they are working properly, you know the way you used too.

My iPhone still goes off and on with wifi so I called the apple care and they are replacing my iPhone. But trouble is that I have to ship it back to states for replacement. Also purchased extended warranty for it for $69 for another year of coverage.
