Nice good spec X5 wanted

Post by DiscoX5 » Sat Nov 10, 2012 12:25 am

E70. Diesel but would take a petrol at the right price. Looking for a well looked after car with a high spec. Stuff like comfort access, head up display, power boot etc would be nice.

May consider a late E53 but would need to be mint, less than 70K miles and again a high spec.

Hi DiscoX5,

X5s with the sort of spec you're looking will be a little less common but are out there, it may just take a little detective work on your side to find.  Have you used BMWs own approved search as you can specify the options you want to cut down the search time.

The E53s didn't come with either Powered Boot or Heads Up Display.  I'm not 100% about the Comfort Access but I don't think this was available either.

Good luck with the search and keep us up to date.

Mine is for sale but misses those three options that you mention because they were not available when I ordered mine.

DiscoX5,

What age and budget do you have in mind?  Knowing this will help focus the search.  It may also be worth finding out when these options became available as again, this could help focus the search.  Anyone any ideas when the options first appeared?

Thanks for the feedback. I've had an E53 before so know all about them.
I'd prefer an E70. Budget up to £30K. I'm aware of all the cars for sale in the usual places. Just thought I'd post on here to see if anyone was thinking of selling their very high spec car. Cheers

With a budget of £30k I'm pretty sure you'll find an E70 in budget. An E53 wouldn't even be in the equation tbh.

yeah I'd only consider an E53 to tide me over for a bit if I couldn't find a nice E70.

Something like this would be perfect if it was at a normal price & not a scam!!
