What an upgrade...

Post by Raj » Sat Nov 10, 2012 10:56 pm

This would be a cool mod/upgrade:

engine transplant

Always wanted to do something like this if I had the money/time.

Seems a bit too cheap to be legit I reckon.

Agreed but then it's not really much use to anyone as not many out there will be up for an engine transplant just for the sake of it and not many out there with blown engines and the like.

Does seem v cheap for a nearly new X5M engine.  A lot of other components would require upgrading to handle that kind of power - gearbox, brakes etc.

A bargain and easy to ask your wife for it for Christmas.

It outlaw make an e53 go well , not too sure about insurance probably £4K

then the only hurdle to get over would be how to get it down chimney! :))

I'd love to transplant it into my E53.

The pure fun factor that could be had.

I wonder what happened to the car.  Two years old and only 8000+ miles.

i could see that going nicely into an e30! ive seen an m5 engined one. i think the wiring required though to get that running in anything other that the intended car would probly bankrupt you!

Probably another like me.....a hermit :P.  Mine only has 8,000 miles after two years, albeit there are some extenuating circumstances.. :( :doctor:

Yes, but you still have everything that goes with the engine, I was wondering if the car had been wrote off, or had the engine been replaced which would be worrying.
