To be honest we can only speculate but through my experiences (in different cars mind) the alarm going off can be the result of your battery being faulty/going flat but I am presuming that you have managed to start it without a problem. Also I don't know if you have had really wet weather like we are currently experiencing where I live, but for both problems to occur at the same time I suppose it could also point to water ingress??

Can't help with the alarm I'm afraid but I had a similar problem with my CD changer. I think that something wears out on them and needs to be replaced. I think that there are kits around to replace the faulty bits but I just bought a new one off eBay and fitted it myself (really easy - just a few bolts and a multi-plug!).

Having said that, as Pete suggested perhaps the two faults are linked?

Sorry I can't help any more!

99% of the cases it is the bonnet sensor for the alarm issues ...

I would agree with this.Is a common problem on beemers. MY M3 kept doing this and i replaced the bonnet switch.

+1 for bonnet switch or batt, would suggest to investigate further. :scratchhead:
