Noticed of late that when starting from cold there is a rattle from the engine, only lasts for about 2 seconds.
Does not do it through the day, just seems to be first thing in the morning.
Oil has been checked and is at the correct level.
Any ideas?

Hydraulic tensioners for the camchains. Mine does the same (10000 after full rebuild, BMW quality spares)

Thought it may have been this. I'm getting them replaced on Monday too.
The lad that's doing the repair said he had one a year or so ago, unfortunately the chap that owned the car did not get them changed in time.
