Try it in an A4/5 front wheel drive diesel

Shocking.  Nothing nothing, turbo kicks in wheels spin still don't go anywhere!! Horrible!!!

In the Audis, I think the DSG gearboxes just compound the problem.

As good as those boxes may be for lightning fast seamless changes and for emissions, they have some downsides as well.

I love the 8-speed 'slushbox' on my X5.

I was referring to the turbo lag

The twin clutch boxes are seamless as they are a proper clutch not a torque converter

The time I notice lag is when I lift off the throttle and then ned to apply some oomph, it's as if the car is thinking 'he wants to slow down, - hang on he wants to go fast again'!

Other than that it's not that noticable to me.

I was referring specifically to pulling away from rest. In my experience, both DSG and Multitronic gearboxes on Audis have a delay when you get onto the throttle, I assume while the clutch engages.
