All you need to know about the iDrive systems on this page on Wikipedia. And before anyone suggests it, no I didn't write it. I just know where to look.......

For the E70/71, the current version appeared in Sept '09 builds. Allowing the few weeks to get to the UK, that at a guess means late October '09 onwards registrations?

So basically another from late 2009 will have it. Many thanks, that really helps and stops me having to squint at dark, low res, interior photo's!
