New X5 owner

Post by Marc T » Sat Oct 20, 2012 9:08 pm

Hi all, just bought my wife an X5 as she preferred driving her old 4x4 instead of her car. This way she has much more luxury than her car plus the higher driving position of her 4x4.

As a result we found a lovely silver 4.4. I haven't posted a pic as I haven't found the rules on pic sizing yet.

It is standard and needed a few jobs. Most are done, full service, anti freeze change, new bm54 unit ( only one corner playing music) and a bad connection on the front light oh and the 2 breather hoses that rot away causing it to say its running lean.

Want to look to add a sub (hidden) and need a cycle carrier but other than that I really like the looks etc as it is now.

Just hoping it turns out to be reliable.

Hello an Welcome.

All you need to know about piccies is here.

They aren't stored on the forum so you need an 'on-line' location.  Lots to use.

My wife kept our E53 for a year after I got the X6 because she preferred the high driving position.  Something to do with her being 5'2" possibly...... O:-)

Welcome, nice engine. I had it in my 7 series and loved it.

Thanks for the welcome. Gave it a run yesterday and it was so comfy it makes up for the 21.5mpg. Just couldn't have been a more relaxed drive.

This is it.

I know it needs a clean but been more bothered with the service etc.

I have found a couple more jobs to do, one is either the rear sub frame bushes or the prop rubber coupling. It has the odd knock from the rear when cold.

The other is trying to find out what phone fits in it. I had a cradle and wire but no mobile. Not a huge issue but with a PAYG sim in it would help complete the car.

Almost forgot, thanks for the links on the pics. I was worried of posting a pic that was too large.
