Front mid bass upgrade

Post by Nxnumber1 » Wed Oct 03, 2012 7:15 am

Hi.

I was just wondering if anyone could help upgrading my front door mid bass speakers. 1 of mine is not working and the other just sounds poor. I've heard that you can't just bolt in an off the shelf solution due to the way bmw have set up these speakers with low resistance, Is that true?

The thing is ideally I'd like to replace the pair rather than just replace the 1 factory that is broken. However is there and off the shelf speaker I could source from the uk?

Bavarian soundworks do a plug and play set but the postage costs are very high. Can anyone recommend a speaker that I can get easy enough without having to worry about additional work to adapt to car system?

Many thanks in advance

Hi Steve,

As in my post on your newbie thread, it is possible to replace the stock speakers, but it would be worth planning out what it is you want to achieve as your end goal. If there are plans to replace the OE headunit or other components then it's best to look at what speakers will match up, etc.

More than happy to meet up and have a chat as I'm not too far from you. Pm me.
