My 4.8 X

Post by kena » Mon Sep 27, 2010 11:35 pm

Just done a 600+ mile round trip to SW London and back since yesterday and the X behaved impeccably, I was well impressed and very pleased. That is all. :driving:

I've done a few long trips down to London now in my 4.8is and it has been an absolute joy! Heading over to the North East too when I get back and i'm going to enjoy the A66!

I travelled from near Worthing to Brussels and back in a day many years ago on a single tank of fuel....

The trip was literally for a 15 minute meeting, and just for a laugh I did a 'Clarkson'. Air con off, radio off, 55 mph on the way there etc to see just how many miles the old girl would do on a tank. From memory, the journey was circa 600 there and back and the car started coughing about a mile from the station I'd filled up in earlier that day. When you consider towards the end of our relationship I was only getting 250 miles or so to a tank I was quiet chuffed.

Great cars and I loved the V8 :D

Best journey though was from just by Monaco to Worthing (about 900 miles), overnight in a single hit when I had the 3.0D Sport X5. Got out of the car at home mid afternoon and felt like I'd just stepped into the car - absolutely made for the journey.

I'll be heading up to Newcastle to see some friends that I went to Uni there with. My missus wants to go for a meal and a night out there as we haven't been since we both left Uni and miss the big city since moving back to little Lancaster.

I think i'm going to be treating myself to a new watch next year... nothing like the feeling of a good watch on your arm. Submariner = 8-)

My missus wants me to get her an Oyster too... suppose its better than getting engaged?

If you have the time give me a shout and we can meet up. I spend a lot of time in Newcastle as my son lives up there.

My missus is after a cartier watch

Live in Seaham Harbour, me and the missus rented a flat in whickham street, Roker when we first met, many moons ago.
