I just phoned Camskill to see if they could help me in my search for Non Runflat for my X5.
The tire departement told me that they would not do the swap unless they had a letter from my insurance and it would be unlikely I would get such a letter.
The claim is that it affect the security of the vehicule as it affect the drive. He then said that the car suspension was ajusted to be softer to cope with the rigidity of the RF tires and that putting softer tires instead of RF could be dangerous and in case of a blowout the insurance would not pay for damages...
Anybody heard such a thing ? I do not post often but I do read this forum quite regularly and also I did a number of searches on the forum and never seen any written to that effect.

That's a new twist!! Never heard that one before. 
I wonder if there's been an incident on a car that they did a swap from RFT to non-RFT once and their Company Insurer has said they aren't to do it in case they get held liable.
There are probably plenty of other places that will do it though.
EDIT - I had non-RFT swapped to RFT on my E53 with no problem at all.

Do you have RF's on your E53?
If so, tell him they came without RF's on ALL E53 until the very last ones (like yours - but I can't be sure until you check). Then tell him he's talking complete bollox and find another place.
I had them delivered and used a local place to swap them for me, no issue whatsoever.
Saw on the other thread the Proxies are no more (heard that too) but are you being advised against the alternative Toyos because THEY think so, or because review of the T1 Sport are not as good as Proxies?
My Proxies have been brilliant and a lot of other members think the same.

Camskill are suppliers only, so no idea what they are on about anyway.

They (camskill) gave me the information because I asked to talk to their "tire specialist" the issue I had is that they offer no solution for Staggered size like mine (315 read 275 front) for instance the Toyos were different thread types which would not do.
The toyo proxes ST either 1 or 2 are no more in 275 width unfortunately and I am not willing to have different front and read thread for obvious reasons.
After this little episode I phoned my insurance company just to make sure and they told me that it makes not a blind bit of difference to them and they even send me an email (letter on its way) to tell me so...
Not sure what on earth the bloke from Camskill was about.
Still struggling to find decently priced tires though went on all the websites sited in the an early reply from Sanj.
Only thing I found as an all weather tire was Pirelly zeros scorpions which will set me back £950 all fitted. Toyos were last year at least around675 to 700.... I should have done it then :'(

My E53 is a later one (Sept 2006) so yep it has the michelin RFT jobbies.
Happy to take the toyo T1 sport but cannot find them in 315/35/R20 so far. I will keep the search though.
I had toyo proxes before on other cars and yep I agree they are a tremendous value for the money.

This is a first. Never heard of anyone refusing to supply tyres on the grounds of moving from RFT's to non-RFT's. Also you can get RFT's and non-RFT's in the staggered setup for the E53 20's.
